TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Freshman Brett Cromwell (Buffalo, N.Y. / Bollettieri Tennis Academy) of the Radford men’s tennis team cruised by Georgia Southern’s Sebastian Felt in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1 to record his first collegiate win Friday at the 2009 Crimson Tide Fall Championships hosted by Alabama.
"Brett played well today winning against a tough player from Georgia Southern," commented four-time Big South Coach of the Year Mike Anderson. “The hard work he has been putting in at practice is starting to pay off. Brett is going to win a lot of college matches by the time his career as a Highlander is over."
Radford, which enjoyed one of its most successful fall campaigns in school history, will opened its 2010 spring slate at the South Florida Tournament, Jan. 15 in Tampa, Fla.
