RADFORD, Va. – Third-year head coach Brad Greenberg announced Monday that Jareal Smith (Savannah, Ga. / Johnson High School) has also inked a National Letter of Intent to join the Radford men’s basketball in 2010-11.
“Jareal was the only guard we offered and we are very excited about this commitment,” said Greenberg, the 2009 Big South Coach of the Year.

Greenberg on Smith as a Player
“"Rell" is a smooth, poised ballhandler with a very nice feel for the game. He is a natural point guard who thinks pass first but can also score the ball in a variety of ways. He is athletic, strong, and fundamentally solid at both ends of the floor. And we believe he has the potential to become an outstanding college guard. His game compliments our other young guards very well.”
Masse Doumbe (Le Mans, France / Polk State College) also signed during the early period with the Highlanders late last week.
Coming off a 76-65 season-opening win over Navy, Radford returns to the Dedmon Center Tuesday evening when it hosts Lynchburg College at 7 p.m.
