Carlson Named Assistant Swimming and Diving Coach

RADFORD, Va. – Krista Carlson has been named assistant swimming and diving coach at Radford University, head coach Randy Jarman announced Monday afternoon.
With the Highlanders, Carlson will help Jarman in all facets of the swimming program with special emphasis on middle distance, freestyle and breaststroke.
“I am thrilled to announce the addition of Krista, “ said Jarman. “She has a outstanding background as a swimmer and a coach. Krista is very organized, energetic and proves to be a great asset to our program. I could not be more pleased with this hire.”
Prior to joining the Highlanders staff, Carlson was a three-year letterwinner at St. Bonaventure.
While at St. Bonaventure, Carlson was a volunteer coach for the Clinton Cudas Swim Team and assisted the Rome Free Academy varsity girl’s and boy’s swim team. She also helped out at the Bonnies swim camp as a counselor, demonstrating proper technique to young swimmers.
Prior to her work as a camp instructor, Carlson spent time with the Parks and Recreation Department of Rome, N.Y. she was the Director of Aquatics and responsible for managing, organizing and running the day-to day operations of the citie’s pools.
