Profile:
Jackie Clouse Snell is now in her 22nd year as head trainer at Radford University, and in her sixth year as senior woman administrator for the Highlander athletic program.
The Somerset, Ohio, native came to Radford after graduating from Ohio University in 1983 with a bachelor's degree in health and a minor in sports medicine. She spent her first year at Radford working as a graduate assistant trainer while finishing her master's degree in health and physical education.
By 1984, she had become head athletic trainer as RU made the move to NCAA Division I. In addition to overseeing the entire program, which includes four assistant athletic trainers, Clouse Snell also serves as team athletic trainer for the Radford men's and women's tennis teams and the men's soccer team.
Clouse Snell is certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association and is a member of the Virginia Athletic Trainers Association. She is also active in the American Red Cross as a CPR instructor. She also serves on the Big South Compliance Committee, lending athletic training experience to the group.
In 1993, as a testament to her knowledge and skill in the profession, she was chosen to serve as athletic trainer for the Big South Conference all-star basketball team that toured Russia.
Clouse Snell is married to Max Snell. They reside in Dublin with their daughter Ericka.
