Profile:
Leahy has been a Dedmon Center Manager and Recreation Supervisor since 1999.
He is responsible for assisting in managing the center and the surrounding athletic and intramural facilities. He oversees the Dedmon Center student workers, scheduling assignments and managing the students through the course of the year. Leahy also provides game-day facility support for intercollegiate athletic events.
In addition to his duties at the Dedmon Center, Leahy, a 1997 Radford graduate, can be found behind the microphone during home men's basketball games. Leahy has been the PA voice for the Highlanders since 1996-97. He is often acknowleged as one of the most talented voices in the Conference, earning him a chance to serve as the PA announcer for the Big South Women's Basketball Tournament during the 2001, 2002 and 2003 championship events.
An electronic journalism major at RU, Leahy's first job following graduating was in Roanoke, Va. at WDBJ-7 television as a photojournalist. He found that his passion lie in athletics and returned to RU in 1999.
A native of Norwich, N.Y., Leahy resides in Fairlawn, Va. with his wife Tory and daughter Kylie.
