Michael Grant is in his fifth year at the helm of Radford golf. Grant, who directs both the men's and women's programs, has shown improvement in his programs since taking the helm in 2003.

He's overseen numerous program firsts, including the first tournament win for the women's program and the first time the men's team has lead a round of the Big South Championship.

He has coached five Big South All-Confernece players and guided his student-athletes to numerous medalist honors. The RU men's team has improved it's finishin the Big South Championship in three of his four years at the helm while capturing multiple regular season tournament titles.

Grant makes sure he emphasizes the studnet part of student-athlete as well. During his tenure, Josh Meador, Laura Tereby and Dana Doganes all earning All-Academic status from the Big South. Tereby and Doganes were both named RU's Scholar-Athlete while Tereby also garnered Academic All-American honors and was awarded the Big South's Christenberry Award, the most presitigous academic award the League bestows on an individual.

A 1991 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth with a B.S. Degree in Community and Public Affairs, Grant competed on the PGA Tour, Canadian PGA Tour and Nike Tour from 1995-1998.

In the summer of 2005 Grant made a qualifying run at the U.S. Open, getting as far as Sectionals before falling just shy of making the field.

Prior to joining Radford, Grant was a teaching professional at Thorn Spring Golf Club in the New River Valley, a position he held for the previous year.

Grant spent three and a half years (1998-2001) as the Assistant Golf Professional at Boonsboro Country Club in Lynchburg, Va.

Prior to his stint in professional golfer, Grant served as the Assistant Professional at Flossmoor Country Club in Chicago, Ill. and as the Assistant Golf Coach at VCU.
