Profile:Mark White comes to Radford University after spending the past 11 years teaching and coaching at Middlesex High School in Middlesex County, Virginia. During that time he has served in a variety of coaching capacities. At Middlesex, White spent six years as the Head Varsity Football Coach, Head Track & Field Coach, as well as the Athletic Director. Under his guidance, in six years, the Middlesex High School men’s track & field program won three consecutive Tidewater District Championships, a Region A Championship in 2006 and a state runner-up placing in 2006. White was named the Tidewater District Coach of the Year for three consecutive years (2005, 2006, 2007) and the Region A Coach of the Year in 2006. During that six year span, his teams finished fourth place twice, third place in once (2007), and second place once (2006). White has coached numerous state champions in a variety of events, including coaching state champions and current Radford University sprinters, Jerry Jones and James Harris. White received his Bachelor’s degree in History from Ferrum College in 1996. He played baseball for Ferrum for four years and served as an assistant coach under Abe Naff for one year. He is married to his wife Susan and has a daughter, Abigail. |
